On the Human Rights Day in 2009, the Implementation Act on Two Covenants (ICCPR and ICESCR) was put into forth in Taiwan. Covenants Watch was established in order to monitor and make sure the domestic implementation of the international human rights instruments by the Taiwanese government. Our efforts led to establish a forum for human rights organizations in Taiwan, to improve a mechanism for promoting and protecting human rights, and the last but not least, to let the values of human rights rooted in the mind of Taiwanese people.
We have continued to devote ourselves to conducting policy advocacy and demonstration, researching on human rights, organizing awareness raising events and seminars, along others. We believe that all these daily works of ours are helping Taiwan step ahead towards a holistic and inclusive implementation of human rights, and in the end, a better country for all residing on this island.
We would like to express our huge gratitude for all your supports towards us. It is your generous contribution which makes our missions possible, and makes Taiwan better. We will continue to strive to defend the fundamental human rights values in Taiwan.
